What is the purpose of the Woodcliff Lake Educational Foundation (WCLEF)?
WCLEF seeks to enhance academic excellence in Woodcliff Lake public schools, primarily by making funding available to teachers to fund innovative and creative programs and initiatives.  Check out some of our recent grants.

Where does the funding come from?
WCLEF solicits donations from individuals and businesses through direct donations and corporate matching. Fundraising events such as the annual Run for Education and Charity Golf Classic also provide support for the Foundation.

How can I support WCLEF?
Donations in any amount are always welcome and can be made online.  See our Donate page for more info.

How can I get involved?
We are always looking for help with fundraising events or from parents with particular skills (marketing, event planning, fundraising, etc.) to help on our committees.  WCLEF is a great way to give back to the community in a way that fits your schedule.  Please attend one of our meetings – all are welcome – or contact us at info@wclef.com or one of our members directly if you wish to offer your talents and skills to the Foundation.

What is the relationship between WCLEF and the School District?
While WCLEF seeks to partner with the School District for a shared vision of academic excellence, we are an independent organization governed by our own Executive Board.  All initiatives proposed to WCLEF must be in line with the District’s curriculum goals.

What is the difference between WCLEF and the Parent Faculty Association (PFA)?
WCLEF's goal is to work in conjunction and cooperation with the PFA to provide the best opportunities for the Woodcliff Lake schools and our children.

  • Our funding must be used to support programs and initiatives that relate to academic instruction.
  • We meet at night – once a month on Wednesday’s at 7:30 p.m. in the Media Center or on zoom.
  • WCLEF fundraising focuses on a few large scale events each school year.  For the 2024-2025 school year, we will be hosting a Charity Golf Classic, Winter Dance Party and the Run for Education.  These events are generally open to the entire community and are sponsored by local businesses.
