Who's Who in the Foundation
Dear Fellow Parents,
Welcome to the new school year at Dorchester Elementary & Woodcliff Lake Middle School! Your child(ren) will have the opportunity to grow and learn at one of the best school districts in New Jersey. One of the many ways Woodcliff Lake Schools continue to be a premier educational institution is through the Woodcliff Lake Educational Foundation, known as WCLEF.
WCLEF is a non-profit foundation that functions as a fund-raising team for grant fulfillment. When teachers and school leaders see a need for a resource that would enhance the learning of the students but are not fulfilled through the normal school budget, they complete a grant process and the WCLEF will assist in filling those grants. This process helps to ensure that our students receive all the necessary tools and resources to help further their educational experience.
In recent years, WCLEF has funded a Mac Lab, Smartboards, musical instruments, art supplies and materials, computer programs, music for the gym, Raz-Kids subscriptions, electronic scales, anti-bullying programs, etc… Since 1986 the WCLEF has given back over $1.5 million to the school district!!
Throughout the year the WCLEF hosts several events such as the Sweetheart Dance, Principal and Superintendant for a Day, and the Run for Education to help raise funds to fulfill the grant requests. There are plenty of fun events and a variety of ways that you can become actively involved at whatever level you are comfortable!
The WCLEF is always looking for new faces to join our exciting team of hard-working professional-minded team players. We meet at 7:30 on the second Wednesday of every month in the board office of the Woodcliff Lake Middle School (Main Doors of the Middle School and to the right). We meet in the evenings to allow for parents who work, in or out of the home, to join us. You are welcome to come to any of our meetings. We are a small and welcoming group of fellow parents focused on helping to make our schools the best!
In the meantime, if you want to learn more please call me at 847-533-9547 (cell) or email at email@example.com to learn more. We look forward to having you join us!
